John 3:22-35

What wonderful words! Johns attitude is totally awesome. He has his ministry and for quite some time he had the best thing going on around. When Jesus shows up, people start flocking towards him instead of going to John. John didn't speak bad about Jesus or try to defend his ministry, he understood what was important. He had the attitude of "He must increase, I must decrease." He knew where Jesus came from, he also knew where he was from. There is an awesome statement that John makes, "those who beleive him discover that God is true. He came from God and speaks His words and God's spirit in on Him without measure." He says, "the Father loves the son and He has been given authority over everything." John knew that the Father loved Jesus. He must of had a divine revelation of that truth. I need to know everyday that my father loves me, that truth will set me free!

John 3

Nicodemus learned strait away that being religous is not enough to enter into the kingdom of God. Jesus is very clear that we must be born again. The word "Must" is a key word. The born again experience is not optional, but a necesity if we are to be saved. People today are still trying to appease God through religion, they fail to look at what Jesus did for us on the cross. The snake that moses lifted up was made of brass. Brass speaks of judgment. God judged our sins on Jesus, He became a curse so that the mercy of God could come to us. Not only did Jesus take our sin on the cross, but also our deseases. The people when bit by a snake would die unless they looked at the bronze snake on the pole. If we would look at Jesus on the cross and see that he took our sicknesses and deseases we too could be free from the snake bite of desease. This is God's love shown to us. He loved me so much that he sent Jesus to die in my place, he became my substitute, he took my sin and gave me his rightousness, took my desease and gave me health, took my poverty and gave me prosperity, took my sorrows and gave me joy. This is why it is so easy to love him and to be grateful for His love for me. I didn't deserve this love but His grace (unmerited favor) was given to me. He didn't come to judge me, but to save me. I am born again because I have confessed Jesus as my Lord and I beleive that He is risen from the dead. All of the blessings of salvation are mine, Thank you Jesus for your awesome love for me!

John 2:13-

The cleansing of the temple shows us a different side to Jesus' character. First of all this temple took 46 years to build, it was the most elegant temple known to mankind even more plush than Solomons temple. So, when Jesus saw animals defacating on the floor and the lack of respect for this beautiful place, He got angry. It also shows us that He is displeased when we allow the dung of the world to find a place in our lives. We are the temple of the Holy Spirit and He desires a temple that is clean and holy. We see Jesus standing up for what He beleived in. He didn't close his eyes to what He saw but arose and did something about it. We need to recover that same tenacity and stand up for our values and morals.

John 2:1-12

Vs 1-5; Mary knew that Jesus operated in the supernatural, even though she had yet to see him perform a miracle, she knew that He walked in an anointing for miracles. So she told the servants to do whatever he told them. As they obeyed His word, the miracle took place. Here I find the necesary ingredients for a miracle. One, there was a need, no more wine. Two, obedience is seen as the servants did what Jesus said. Third, they followed the instructions of Jesus (the Word). Forth, the miracle happened.
Vs 10; Jesus is saving the best wine for last, we are living in the last days and have access to the best wine (Holy Spirit)...
Vs 11, This was the first of many miracles that Jesus did, He is still a miracle worker today, as he performs miracles, people will beleive in Him. May God continue to use me to be a miracle worker as well and always beleive that He is a miracle worker.

John 1:35-51

Vs 35-37; John was with his two disciples when Jesus walked by. After John declared that Jesus was the Lamb of God, his two disciples went to follow Jesus. I don't know how much time, energy and money John had invested in his disciples and to think that they just left him to follow Jesus. What a great attitude that John had, he didn't get angry. He didn't accuse Jesus of stealing his sheep and building his ministry off of another mans work. I need to have the same attitude if one of two of my disciples desire to follow another man or ministry. Don't take it as personal rejection or my ministry isn't as good as the other. God places the members in the body as it pleases him.
Vs 38-42; Andrew was one of Johns disciples that decided to follow Jesus. Andrew brought Simon (his brother) to meet Jesus. I need the same to happen in my life, introduce others to Jesus. When Simon met Jesus, Jesus changed his name. Thats what happens when we meet Jesus, He changes our nature.
Vs 43; Jesus found Philip, it wasn't accidental, Jesus knew that he would find him. It is no accident when we encounter Christ, He has been keeping his eye open to spot us and invite us to become one of His disciples. What a privilege to be a disciple of Jesus!
Vs 45; Phillip went looking for Nathanael, as Jesus's disciples we need to go and look for others to come and follow him.
Vs 47; Jesus operated in the gifts of the Spirit, here we see the gift of knowledge in operation. Nathanael asked, how did you know that about me? Jesus had knowledge about him that was revealed to him by the Holy Spirit. The same gifts are available to us.
Vs 51; referring to Jacobs ladder, finding the fulfillment in Christ, who has established unbroken fellowship between heaven and earth so that all beleivers can have fellowship with God.

John 1:15-34

Vs 15 - I am not to be embarassed to point Jesus out to the crowds, He is the only one who can change a life...I must always remember that Jesus is far greater than I will ever be! He exists before the beginning.
Vs 16 - I have benefited from his rich blessings he brought to me, one after another
Vs 17 We live in the time of God's unfailing love, it is only is availabe to me through Jesus.
Vs 18 - Jesus is the only one who has seen God, but He is revealing to me the Fathers' heart.
Vs 19 - 28 John did not have an identity crisis, He knew what his purpose and role was in life. I must be content with the role and purpose that God has for me to fulfill.
Vs 29 - 34 - John saw Jesus coming to him, Lord help me to see when Jesus is coming my way! Help me Lord to point others to Jesus who can take their sin away. Lord, as John saw the Holy Spirit come upon Jesus, let Him also descend upon me. Lord Jesus, come and baptize me afresh with the Holy Spirits fire.

John 1: 1-14

vs 3 - My life is of value because I have my beginning in Him.....God is the creator of everything that has come into being, He continues to create His purpose in my life.
vs 5 - Jesus the light of the world still shines today in darkness (the world) and the world still does not understand Him. When Jesus shines through me, many people will not understand why I do what I do because they do not understand Him and what He is doing in my life.
vs 6 - there was a man sent from God whose name is Patrick...God has called me, chosen me and has a plan for my life. My calling is to be a witness and to testify of the Light so that all can beleive in Him through me. The Light (Jesus) is shining in me...vs 9 ...Jesus is the true Light, the only light that can illuminate truth to every man..
vs 11...Because Jesus came to His own and was rejected, there will be those who will reject the Jesus in me....I will not take rejection personal, not everyone wants light.
vs 12 - Since I have received Jesus, I have become a child of God, I beleive in Him...vs 13 I have been born again by the will of God.
vs 14 - Jesus the Word is dwelling in my flesh, my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, because He lives in me, people will see His glory working in my life, they will see in me His grace, mercy and truth in my life....
